Mark Smith

Technical Advisor

Mark is a registered Professional Engineer with 45 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specializing in mine waste (tailings management) and infrastructure.

Mark’s experience includes over 10 years working in the Yukon Territory, including on the owner’s teams for the Coffee Gold Project and Eagle Gold Project, and consulting for the Yukon Government (EMR).  He was on the Owners’ teams during the acquisitions of Kaminak Gold Corp. (Yukon), Exeter Resources Corp. (Chile), Grayd Resources Corp. (Mexico), and a confidential project in eastern Europe. He has worked on some of the largest, most complex tailings disposal systems, including being part of the teams responding to the two large tailings dam failures in Brazil.

Mark is a co-founding Director of Brazilian Nickel as well as chair of the Technical Steering Committee, Chief Geotechnical Advisor to a major geotechnical consultancy, an Advisor on the University of Nevada College of Engineering Advisory Board, and an Advisor to Tectonic Metals. Mark co-founded Vector Engineering Inc., a consulting and engineering company, who focuses on clients working in precious, base and battery metals.

Mark holds a Master of Engineering (Civil and Geotechnical) from the University of Nevada.
